Aftermath by AdamBurn Aftermath by AdamBurn
A print of this painting can be bought here [link]

The aftermath of a devastating alien attack against a huge city complex, in an act of desperation the inhabitants used weapons of mass destruction on their own city to deter the invading forces. The weapons did indeed repel the attack, the ships that weren't destroyed or to damaged left retreated, the huge alien ships that were caught in the resulting explosions smashed into the cities bellow, huge towering wrecks littered the cities, plumes of smoke and ash ran on for miles, most of the area was reduced to a fiery inferno. Those that survived were greeted only by hellish scenes and a hostile environment, they considered the ones who had died in the attack the lucky ones.

New image from the Luminarium exhibit [link] go take a look there are so many awesome images.

What a disaster, not the piece but the setting. You have captured the sense of the end of a cataclysmic event, there is practically nothing left but ash. I love the work you done here, it is amazing to see. Well done.

Very cool image! I love the overall mood. It's also very successful in raising those interesting questions that make an image resonate. Context and a sense of story add immeasurably to a an evocative image :)

Hell yeah! That's great looking! The river off to the right looks like it could use some love though, but otherwise, I'm sold on the sky, the charred remains, the smoke. Love it.

I also love the descriptions you leave behind on your work. Don't lose touch with that as a lot of people do. Its a great addition to the piece.

I have no intention of loosing that touch, its essential for my images to have a story behind them, it drives the creativity

You can join the site www.theluminarium.net but only as a normal member where you can post up your images into the gallery on the site for critique, also a place to ask questions or for help. If you actually want to join as a contributer then you have to fill out an application form which will be reviewed by the art group team and they will decide if you can be a full team member, this usually comes down to several points, skill, attitude, and what you can offer. If you are not accepted you are given reasons why, and pointers to improve, many people have failed the first time only to re apply a few weeks/months later having improved dramatically thanks to input.
ANd no you can commit in any medium within reason, be it tradition, digital or photography.

Yeah so long as you are able to show them in a digital format in a good quality, either scanned or using a damn good camera, with no relfections or bloom.
