Lets begin with the first thing we see: the overall detail. The picture, is well, simply stunning. The curves, wrinkles and scratches on each and every individual surface, organic or otherwise looks amazing. The angle of which the picture is drawn and the image of the male figure firing upon his inhuman attacker truly gives the piece an excellent source of action and make it appear that much more dynamic. You can almost feel the tension of the encounter with each and every round that was fired on screen and the sense of dread that the soldier must feel with this grim situation.
The lighting also does an excellent job in the piece as well. From the flash and flickers brought on by flames and explosions, to the sparks emanating from the energy weapons that are being fired through the air, it all really builds on the atmosphere excellently.
This is a great example of how battles should be drawn out. With great emotional stress, dynamic encounters and excellent design style, Extreme Condition is a remarkable piece in every sense of the word. Excellent work Phoenix!
