We, as in me and the other art team members, have been tasked with making space look less boring and more dynamic, one suggestion was Solar Winds that emanate outward from a systems star and go through "seasons" of intensity and their effects can be seen and heard system wide if its a particularly gassy star. It will spew cloud like formations that slowly move outward and fade, dust and particles will shoot past aswell and some cool subdued sound effects.
