Just when I thought my anticipation for Mass Effect 3 was high enough something else had to come along and shove its huge metal flag into the summit of my brain thus filling me with overpowering, even crippling, anticipation for the game it represents... I speak of course about Halo 4. A new "First Look" trailer showing off some early in game stuff as well as sound effects and music and people talking about how awesome Halo 4 is (obviously, like you would hear the devs say its "ok").
A few things got me worried when Halo 4 was first announced, first that it's Halo 4 and not made by Bungie. Second is the COD effect in that COD games never change despite the locations and some additional multiplayer addons they never take the risk to re-haul everything, this is something I feared would happen to Halo 4 with 343 trying to prove themselves and basically following in Bungie's shadow not venturing out. BUT, and its a big but... hehe. They have not followed behind Bungie in fact they have taken Halo and ripped it apart and thrown it away and rebuilt it from the ground up, new graphics, new sound, new effects, new music, new multiplayer, new campaign, new direction, new features, new new new!
So after watching this short video I have had my doubts thoroughly seen to and destroyed, 343 are making Halo their own now that Bungie are gone so has the old Halo and after 10 years (11 once Halo 4 is out) they need a new fresh Halo out there to kick start the new trilogy and I have no doubt this game will be amazing.

Already though, the Halo 3 fanboys hate this game because it has Sprint. They claim it ruins Halo completely along with other things that aren't Halo 3.
The game still has at least 9 months left till it comes out and I can't imagine what the finished product will be like. In an interview with Frank O'Connor, he stated that releasing a Beta would slow them down and pretty much stop production of Halo 4. I hope that a Beta doesn't come out at all. This way when we play the full game for the first time, we will get a full impression. Not some fraction of a finished product. I remember people saying Reach sucked because of their impression on the Beta.
I saw the trailer on a site called Kotaku and usually the comments box would be filled with arguments with a 50/50 split between haters and lovers but with the Halo 4 one people seemed content with where it was headed.
Imagine if all of the Mario games were the same, but just graphical updates. That's pretty much what Halo 3 fanboys want. Which I doubt Mario would have been as popular I it was that way.
They can adapt or not play. Also imagine Halo 1 fanboys whenever Halo 2 came out. They probably hated dual wielding and other things.
Yes.
